“The villagers of Tenthema, in the Makhosikazi area, warmly welcomed us to their community. They were delighted to receive a water pump in the village for the first time, and the women danced to show their appreciation and joy. The community had hoped for many years to have a pump but did not know where to turn for assistance. They expressed their sincere gratitude to Drop4Drop and Levy for responding to their request for help and providing this much-needed source of clean and safe water.

The people in the village are poor and face many challenges in their daily lives. For example, they have no local markets where they can sell their crops after harvest, and there are no health facilities nearby, making it difficult for them to access medical care when they become ill.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
