Community involvement is also immense, they involve actively in water supply construction process. Digging the wells and providing locally available materials are the major one.

The WASH committees are established at each hand dug well site and functional, properly carry out their duties and responsibilities, look after the proper functionality of the water supply schemes. Step by step training on Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of water scheme Management is conducted at water site. 7 male and 7 Female the total of 14 water committee members are participated for the hand dug well site.

Hygiene and sanitation education is continued to improve the poor sanitation condition at rural community. It is anticipated that provision of hygiene and sanitation education will bring about some behavioural change towards practicing better sanitation to tackle the deep-rooted problem of poor sanitation condition in rural community”.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
