‘I am Mrs.C.Ruchitha W/o Chinnarasu of Pondavakkam SC Village Happy and Humbled to thank and greet NEWS NGO, DROP4DROP, U.K. and KINDLY DONATED BY HARRODS THROUGH PURCHASES OF LIFE WATER for a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and a 2000 Liters Overhead Tank to our Pondavakkam SC Village. We are happy to say few lines about the agony we had been undergoing before we got the new water project. Our girl children were spending lots of time in bringing the water to our home. Now they are relieved. We did not have the required water and children were not able to take bath regularly and suffered skin disorders Now we are happy they are finding sound health as they are able to take bath, wash hands, cloths frequently and the health condition shall improve. Lots of time which was wasted in bringing water is saved. Now we are able to cook fast and send our children on time to their schools and the elders to their daily labour work. We thank NEWS NGO for selecting our village and to KINDLY DONATED BY HARRODS and DROP4DROP for your concern and support to us.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
