The village has so many challenges but water is the major one. Women walk long distances to get water at an open well dug near a stream. They are happy now because they have water near their homes and thankful people to drop4drop. They are willing to plant Tephrosia in their fields because the soil have lost fertility. DROP4DROP’s mission in Malawi is not only to provide local communities with specialised water wells and pumps that suit their situation, but to give them the tools and knowledge they need to maintain and use the equipment for themselves.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
