Nacole, Ancuabe District, Mozambique

DROP4DROP have teamed up with our in-country partner in Mozambique, to provide water to the Ancuabe and Chiure districts. These districts are located in the Province of Cabo Delgado in Mozambique, which borders the neighbouring country of Tanzania and the provinces of Nampula and Niassa. The Chiure & Ancuabe District populations are estimated at 299,235 and 241,515 respectively and subsistence farming is the number one source of income for majority of the population. In these rural districts, water paucity remains a stark issue. DROP4DROP and our in-country partner are working tirelessly to reach as many rural communities as we can and provide a sustainable source of clean water, as well as hand-wash facilities, training, soap and masks to combat the spread of COVID-19.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
