Chimoto 2, Kasungu, Malawi

“Many villagers attended the installation; words of praise were all among the villagers. They never thought that they could have the chance of clean water in the village. Others promised to help them but to no avail so many thanks to Wells for Zoë for helping this village. Many people in the area grow tobacco which gives money to the people in the area. It is not easy to reach the village because the roads are in bad shape. Preschools in the area are scarce and primary and secondary schools are very far. Many children are just working in the fields.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
