“This project has been completed. The community now have clean drinking water for about 300 of its inhabitants. The pleasure and happiness of the completion of the project is felt in every corner of the village. Alfa Djigo, head of the community expressed his gratitude and immense happiness to the completion of the project: “We used to have animosity and quarrel and at times fights among ourselves due to the lack of water in our village” he said. “But now all that has gone thanks to this project. We now have ample clean water.” Women and girls all felt the joy. Mariama Ceesay, head of the women ‘’Kaffoo’’ (society) of the village said the unity and happiness brought in the village thanks to this water project is worth more than a million thanks. “We can now live in unity, happiness and take care of our children and our social activities. This water project is a blessing” she said. “Thank you.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
