“The installation went well and women and children came in their numbers to witness it. They had always been drawing water from open wells. They admired our pump from neighbouring villages where we installed and asked for our contacts. We were contacted and we have given them a pump and they are thankful. Their village is situated in the area of Edingeni trading centre and most of the villagers have small businesses. Others are farmers. There are no trees in the area and they are asking for seeds. It is not very far from the main road and Schools are also very near to the village.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
