“Our children are now safe! The increasing rate of mortality rates of children in our community were due to children falling into pounds. The number of children drowning in ponds and swamps was increasing on a daily basis. Ponds are the major source of water in our community therefore getting rid of them would mean no water for us, as well encroaching on the environment and nature. With this well our children are safe and as parents we can forbid them from fetching pond water as well assured of their security when they go out to fetch water. We can now have peace of mind. Thank you for saving our children and bringing us clean safe water.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
