“It’s all too easy to forget what a miracle water is. In rich countries, clean, safe drinking water is so plentiful and easily available that they simply take it for granted. Access to clean water is a fundamental human right. Yet around the world, billions of poor people are still facing the daily challenge of accessing safe water, spending countless hours queuing or trekking long distances and coping with health impacts of using contaminated water. Millions get sick or die everyday because they have no access to clean and safe water. Diseases from unsafe water kill more people each year than all forms of violence making this one of the world’s most urgent health issues. On this world water day 2023, we commission a water source that was constructed by Drop4Drop with support from Last night a Dj saved my life foundation and Camino partners. Community member Nabtende says “Our community now has clean and safe drinking water which is a miracle. We can now happily say Happy World Water day!”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
