“Mzoma is a new area near the border of Malawi and Zambia. They heard about Wells for Zoё after seeing our pump in Embangweni when one of them visited the area. They liked the way the pump was functioning. They requested for pumps in their area and we have started giving them. They are very thankful we accepted their request and they welcome all our programmes. The village seems to have more people but experiencing many challenges. Upon our arrival we found children wearing unclean clothes and they were also dirty signifying that water is a big problem in the area. Trees are rarely found in the area more especially the natural ones. Trees are mostly found around schools. They will be happy if we can help them with tree seeds.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
