East African Drought

In 2011 East Africa experienced its worst drought in 60 years. Combined with displacement and rising food prices the drought left more than 13 million people in desperate need for humanitarian support. drop4drop partnered with Christian Aid to recondition 10 borewells benefiting around 8500 people. Borewells in the affected settlements were experiencing severe strain from the influx of farmers and their livestock.  The strain caused deterioration decreasing functionality.
