“My Name is Ms. VARSHINI I am 15 years old, and I am a resident of Balagopalapuram Village. Today, I stand here with great happiness and gratitude to share our village experience. For many years, our village faced serious water problems. We had to walk long distances and wait many hours to collect water. Often, the water was not clean, and our children became sick. Women spent most of their time fetching water, which affected our daily work. Children were late to school, and elderly people suffered due to lack of safe drinking water. Today, our lives have changed. This New Borewell, installed near our homes with an Electric Motor and 2000 litres’ Water Tank, has given us clean and safe drinking water. Because of this borewell:
– Our children are healthier and can maintain good hygiene
– Girls can attend school regularly without missing classes
– Women save time and energy, helping us support our families
– Our village is becoming cleaner, healthier, and more confident
This borewell is not only giving water, but also giving us health, dignity, education, and hope for the future. On behalf of all the families of Balagopalapuram village, I express my wholehearted gratitude to LNADJ for their generous support and care for our village. Your help has brought lasting change to our lives.
We also offer our wholehearted thanks to DROP4DROP for making this support possible and for standing with poor and marginalized communities like ours. On behalf of all village people, I sincerely thank Mr. Jonny Lee and Ms. Kamelia Zaal for their gracious visit to our village. Your presence means a lot to us and makes us very happy. We will always remember your kindness. May God bless all of you. Thank you for giving us clean water and a better life.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
