“Since birth, the people of Kapakasa village had been drinking unsafe water from open wells and had long hoped for a pump. Lives have been lost in the past due to water-borne diseases, but now the community is thankful to Drop4Drop and Coastal & ESS for providing them with clean and safe water.

The villagers are hard-working farmers, and some have travelled to South Africa in search of better opportunities. They are eager to welcome more organisations and well-wishers to work in their area to help uplift their lives.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
