Thank You To Everyone Who Drank Life Water at Glastonbury 2023
“My name is Achal Mawien Deng. I am 15 years old, and I am still single. I live here in Raing Abuong village. This well of ours has been broken. Since then, we struggled to get clean water. We used to travel all the way to Panthou PHCC to get water, a distance of 20 minutes. Sometimes, the managers of PHCC close the compound and prevent outsiders from entering to get water. The situation worsens when the compound is closed since there is no other borehole around here. We resort to taking water from pools and ponds, which gives us sickness. For the last few days, there have been frequent visits to the health clinics due to drinking dirty water. Today, I am very happy to see our well-being fixed again and functional as before. We will never continue walking long distances to go and get water from those places but rather just in our village. This means no more sickness and lack of clean water. I, therefore, thank God for the provision of this opportunity given to us. I thank the technicians for repairing our well today so that we have clean water again. May God bless the organization.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
