Wasozi 1 Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

“In Wasozi 1 village of Uganda, access to clean water has been a game-changer, transforming the lives of its people in ways they could never have imagined. This village, like many rural communities, once struggled with poor water quality and limited access, Before the clean water project, the village relied on distant, unprotected water sources like ponds and rivers. The water they collected was often contaminated with bacteria and harmful microorganisms, leading to frequent outbreaks of waterborne diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. The lack of reliable, clean water had a profound impact on the community’s health, education, and overall development but now thanks to Drop4Drop for this remarkable transformation that has taken place after the construction of a clean water source in this village. The village of Wasozi 1 village, once plagued by waterborne diseases and limited economic opportunities, has emerged as a vibrant, thriving community. Access to clean water has been the key to unlocking a brighter future for this village. Drop4Drop and Malcolm Thorpe continue to transform lives through clean water.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
