“I am Lakshmi Raghu of Thanipoondi SC Village. I am happy and humbled to thank and greet NEWS NGO, DROP4DROP, U.K. I am also happy to thank our donors Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club Through Purchases Of Life Water for sponsoring a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and 2000 Liters Overhead Tank to our Thanipoondi SC Village.

We are getting water from the Panchayat line, all the members of the village are dependent on this one facility and the availability of water is very little, thus we do not get the required water and have to travel long distances to bring water from ponds and open wells. The water in those areas are not safe for drinking and our children suffer from skin problems, coughs and colds. Most of the time our children were in a disease prone state. We are not very happy to see the new water sources in our village and we can get water 24/7. It is a great opportunity and we feel blessed that you have made this possible. Thank you, we assure proper use of the water sources and it shall be a great memory for all of us.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
