“Water has been a big challenge in this village. Women walk long distances to get water from the Dambo area where they have dug shallow open wells where animals and people share the same water, which was not good for human purpose. Very little vegetation is found in the village and people are eager to grow more trees this year if seeds can be given. They have preschool but they lack assistance with training the caregivers. Hospital is also another problem in the village and they walk for over 10 km to find one.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
