The people here requested water assistance from a number of different NGOs but did not receive any support from them. They are very thankful to drop4drop for quickly building the pump and providing the support they needed. They aim to plant more trees in the area with their new water supply.

DROP4DROP’s mission in Malawi is not only to provide local communities with specialised water wells and pumps that suit their situation, but to give them the tools and knowledge they need to maintain and use the equipment for themselves.

Malawi’s economy predominately relies on agriculture, with the trade of agricultural goods being the only source of income for many households across all regions of the country. Not only do the wells we install provide a drinking source for the entire community, but they also benefit local agricultural projects, allowing for a continued supply of produce throughout the dry season.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
