Sakabusolo 1 Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

“Sakabusolo village members are extremely pleased with the new water source in their community. Establishing a clean source of water in our village enables us to carry out domestic activities and benefits the broader community by facilitating productive activities like brick making for re-building their family homes etc. The new water source is much nearer to our homes, says Hilda. The mothers say that dirty water had contributed to widespread stomach ailments among the villagers mainly among children. But thanks to the new water source all the water related complaints are no more. When a community receives access to water everything changes.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
