I am Vanitha, daughter of Balaiah from Pannur ST village and we belong to a neglected community. We do not get any better amenity in our village and thus even for drinking water we have to walk long distances, transporting the water on our foreheads. During the visit of NEWS NGO., we had been expressing our problems so the new water project in our village is a great improvement to us. We never dreamed that so soon our village would be selected and the new water project would be provided. We heard about your generosity and thus we are overwhelmed about the easy access to water sources. We shall be spending our time in a useful manner and get more time to think of other work as lots of time has been saved now.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
