“People came in their large numbers to witness the installation. The installation was good. They have never had a borehole. Open wells are dug in every village where people get water. With the arrival of Wells for Zoë pumps in the village everyone was excited. No good roads in the village. Schools are very far leaving most people illiterate. Many of them depend on farming. Due to charcoal burning less trees are found in the area. They grow more maize and tobacco. They walk long distances to find health facilities.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
