“The rehabilitated water point was Nombo Water Point in Nteme area in Bwengwa Constituency, Monze district. The water point with the coordinates S 16.15060, E 27.39179 and elevation 1065 which supplies water to approximately 206 people. The pipes, rods, bearings and rubbers in the cylinder got damaged and were replaced together with the entire apron which was renewed and a soak away was constructed at the end of the drainage. The Water point has a committee which ensures its well managed.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
