“It was a great day in the area of Jomasi as we installed a pump for the first time. Previously, wild animals and people shared the same streams as their water source, but now the villagers are overjoyed to have access to clean and safe water from the newly installed pump. Most of the people in the village are poor, but many are farmers who are expecting a good harvest this year. They have cultivated a variety of crops, primarily maize, soya, and tobacco. However, the road networks leading to the area are in very poor condition which makes access to the market difficult.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
