“People were over the moon when they saw us for the first time to have water in the village coming from a pump. They have been drawing water from open wells before. The village is surrounded by mountains and it has a lot of dambo lands which provides the village a lot of water. There were no pumps in the area and people used to get water from the sources animals used to drink from. The people are very poor and depend on farming.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
