“Each day I woke up very early with my young daughters. We had to walk to the neighbouring town to collect water. I used to go with two 20 litre jerry cans with my daughters so that we could collect enough water for cooking, bathing and drinking. To collect a lot of water, I had to go multiple times, wasting a lot of times as well as being a tedious activity. But despite going through a lot of trouble to collect the water, it was still not safe to drink and used to make my children sick. With this new water source, there is going to be a huge difference for me and my family as well as other community members. Life will be much easier. We can use water whenever we want, bath and also give to our animals and most importantly our families will be healthier. Thank you very much Compass Group.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
