Mpanga 2, Mpigi District, Uganda

The Mpanga community currently rely on a small pond on the outskirts of their village to collect water from. Like many rural communities in Uganda, women and children spend many hours of their day walking to collect water, losing time out of education and employment.

Arthur Recruitment are fundraising to support the Mpanga community and build a sustainable source of clean drinking water in the centre of the village, ensuring access to clean water and freeing time up for women and children to generate income and attend school.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
