“They were using water from open wells for their daily chores and women used to walk for about 2.5 kms to find good water from a bore-hole for drinking and cooking. They really appreciate what Wells for Zoё has done in the village by giving them good and clean water. Now the villagers are proud because they have clean water. This year people in the village will face hunger because of the low produce they had this year. The area has no health facility, causing them more problems when they get sick. The community is big and they are requesting for additional pumps in the future.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
