Lwanjiri A 2 Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

‘Nakato is a mother of three and she stays at Lwanjiri A 2 village. She narrates , “ I used to walk for along distance everyday in search of clean water for my family. Some times when the water in my house used to get finsihed , i asked for some from my neighbors . This was a very big burden to them because they also had just enough water . The closest water source was too far and when i had no other options ,i got water from the near by pond. Now with this constructed water source ,we now have clean and safe water in our community.”’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
