“Being a mother is not easy, especially in Africa. I am a mother of 5 children, including a four month old toddler.  A woman has to make sure there is water in the homestead. However, with ponds as our the source of water, you have to walk the long distance usually with the baby on your back and risk the possibility of falling into the pond with the baby. After fetching the water, you have to filter it and that takes a lot of time especially since you use more water as a nursing mother. Worse still the water is usually dirty and yet the baby has to drink some. Now everything has turned around and coincidentally on this Mother’s day, we had the blessed gift of clean water which is very accessible. What more can a mother ask for?”
