Kitaboona 1, Mpigi District

“While most of us know we ought to drink more water than we do, few understand what it means to go without water or rely on contaminated water! Our village was faced with a high likelihood of life threatening diseases like diarrhoea and cholera which kills more people than either tuberculosis. To combat these waterborne diseases like diarrhoea or cholera in Kitaboona village, Loopmasters and LNADJ ensured that hundreds have access to water and proper sanitation through working directly with this community to restore dignity and overcome the daily indignities and diseases associated with water poverty.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
