Kisubi Village 1, Mpigi District, Uganda

“We used to wake up very early in the morning to go fetch water from the nearby pond and this caused water related issues. Some times we would walk beyond the pond to the neighbouring village in search for clean safe water. Whenever a community receives access to water ,everything changes. In my village, health has improved, time has been saved and children are able to attend school. Access to clean water in this community has significantly contributed to improving livelihoods and sanitation among the community members who used to face issues related to lack of clean water for many years. All community members now have access to clean water.

Now, our lives have improved. We thank drop4drop and Last Night a Dj saved my life Foundation for saving our community. Not only is the water closer, we are sure that Community members aren’t going to suffer from water related illnesses again and children will be able to spend more time concentrating on their studies instead of fetching water.

We are lucky that we have clean water close to our homes.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
