‘Before we were suffering especially when there was no rain for months at a time. In the drier seasons, we would have to walk long distances to get enough water that we needed daily, or pay expensive prices for clean water from vendors. If we need the clean water when there is no local water, then we couldn’t afford other necessities like food, or I couldn’t afford my children’s school fees. Now we have ready access to clean water, we do not need to travel far or pay expensive fees for water anymore. Many thanks to the donor for their generosity.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
