Kembe, Yei River State, South Sudan

“Lilias Araba Steve is 40 years old with 5 children. She’s a resident of Kembe area in Yei town and she serves as a health worker in Yei Civil Hospital. Araba lives in this area a long time ago even throughout the difficult time in Yei before calmness was attained in the town. When the Borehole handle started indicating instability she rushed to drop4drop repair crew. Because pumping it would cause more damage which would result in fetching unclean water. Araba is very proud and applauding to the great funders for sponsoring this water well. This is simply to enable thousands of individuals to access clean water for years. It’s also a great campaign to attract many people to come back to their abandoned houses due to fear of insecurity which is past now.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
