Phazima, Mzimba

This village in Edingeni has many challenges which they need support for. In the village, there are more children who stay at home and do not go to school because there is no preschool in the village. They are willing to have one but they lack someone to teach them how to operate it. Water also has been another challenge in the village. They used to draw water from open wells but now they are happy because drop4drop has given them a pump hence they are thankful people. They are also willing to grow more trees in the village.

DROP4DROP’s mission in Malawi is not only to provide local communities with specialised water wells and pumps that suit their situation but to give them the tools and knowledge they need to maintain and use the equipment for themselves.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
