Kathobwa, Kasungu, Malawi

“It was a happy moment in the village of Kathobwa; Tuesday 8th of October when the pump was installed in this village. Women before had to walk to the pounds near the streams to get water. Now that the village has its own pump people are extremely happy and wishing Wells for Zoë long life so that many Malawians should benefit. The area is flat with no mountains and this makes the area have big water problem. The wells are dug but found very deep, and many cannot afford to dig and they employ the experts to dig the wells. There are no trees in the area and they request for tree seeds.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
