Kalungu Village, Hoima District, Uganda

“People in our village suffered from acute water crisis due to a shortage of a clean water source in the community.Primarily, the water source in the entire community was an open well . Some people trekked to the near by village to fetch clean water but there were long queues and it was a struggle to fetch water. Now our  community has a clean source of water. No more struggles of standing in long queues to collect water ” Narrates Kisakye Jane.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
