“Jatta Kunda is a community of 300 primarily Fula tribe members. The village is also home to a small group of Mandinka tribe members. The community has a twin handpump system that is their primary source of water. Both of these hand pumps fell in to disrepair. Before completion, the village was relying on a single hand pump which barely works.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
