Jaderi Village, Tamil Nadu, India

“Our village had a water tap and the timing of water availability was very poor and it was not sufficient for many families. We used to only be able to get one or two pots during the water supply dates which was not even sufficient for cooking so we used to walk long distances to fetch the water and carry it on our heads and this was not safe to drink and could be used for washing purposes only so our children could not be made ready in time to reach the schools and also they used to only have a bath only twice in a week which was not so healthy as they play in soil and soil their dresses also. All of these problems are solved now and the water facility has brought great joy to us and we thank you very much for the facility to Michel.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
