“Joice Kiden is 18 years old. She’s studying at Emmanuel Christian College-Secondary School. She’s in senior 2. Joice’s family were displaced during the conflict, to Hai Gabat. Joice returned back to Hai Tarawa in 2019. Joice is so excited because she could not be going to another far borehole to fetch water. She said, waking up in the morning, walking half an hour to a water point often affected her timely arrival to school. She would like to thank drop4drop for repairing the borehole. Now the community is more blessed because of clean water.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
