Chiputa 2 Village, Mzimba District, Malawi

“We were welcomed by happy people in this village of Chiputa 2, according to the chief of the village said that they have been willing to have good water in the village for many years, as for now they are glad that at long last wells for Zoë has given them good and safe water. The village depend on farming for daily living, they grow different varieties of different crops but they produce very little this is due to infertility of their soil; if they want to have bumper harvest they need to apply fertilizers which many can’t afford due to high prices.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
