“The water the people were using was dirty and women walked long distances about 2km to look for clean water. Now the village is extremely happy to have clean water for the first time. The village is very near to a tarmac road and people have no problem in selling their produce because most people in this village are farmers. But the only remaining challenge besides water is trees. Since they are living near the road people also sell charcoal. They need seeds so that they should plant in all bare places.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
