“People in the village are very happy to have their own pump. They were drawing water from a river where animals drink. They have been suffering from diseases like Dysentery and diarrhoea because of using unprotected water in the village. With the coming in of a pump in the village for sure they will no longer suffer from these diseases. There are no hospitals in the area causing more problems when they are sick. There are also no roads in the village causing difficulties in the village in movement. People are also interested in planting trees in the village so that women should not walk long distances to fetch firewood.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
