Kindly Donated by Levy Through Purchases of Life Water

‘I am K. Charumathi D/o Kumar Raja of Chedilpakkam SC Village Happy and Humbled to thank and greet NEWS NGO, DROP4DROP, U.K. and kindly donated by LEVY UK THROUGH PURCHASES OF LIFE WATER for Sponsoring a deep Borewell fitted with an Electrical Motor and a 2000 Liters Overhead Tank to our Chedilpakkam SC Village. We were in great struggle for the water for all purposes and we had been fully dependent on the common tap provided by the village panchayat.The real constraint is that the duration of the supply of water is only one hour and we had been suffering mentally and physically for the lack of availability of the water sources. So we had engaged our adolescent girls also to bring the water on foreheads and it was a great sorrow for us. During the working days the girls had to walk along with us to bring the water and also to rush to their schools. So lots of time was wasted but now we are relieved from all these problems and are able to get water in adequate manner.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
