Adhoth Community, Warrap State, South Sudan

“My name is Wol Kuch Baak from Adhoth village, I am a 49-year-old father and we’re blessed with nine children. As I speak at Adhoth well with GPS coordinates of 8.270832 and 28. 523446, the well had experienced damage to one pipe, as noticed by the technicians when they disassembled it. We had spent days of unrest searching for clean water from neighboring wells, leading to serious mistreatment at Maper and Ngenylai wells. Others were banned from taking water with the excuse that they destroyed their well and that they had come to destroy our well too, it was a quarrelsome situation that we were exposed to, but luckily, we received a team of experts from WESI technician who is always tasked to provide clean drinking water to water to the communities of Warrap State. Adhoth Well, with installed ten pipes, was quickly repaired in less than two hours. This surprised and pleased the community because they had never witnessed such professionalism in well repair. Unlike this repair, every repair took more than 4 hours, which happened in 1 hour and 35 minutes.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
