“Thawale village is in Embangweni. They admired how neighbouring villages were enjoying clean water pumps and how it functions. They quickly enquired how they can also have pumps in the village through Mr Smith Chunga, the community head. Villagers worked with the drop4drop partners to organise construction, who listened to the village’s concerns from not having clean water. They did what they were advised and now they are happy people because the pump has been installed in the village and is providing clean water. They will now have access to clean water for very long time, which will mean safe drinking and shorter journeys to collect water.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
