“Many people were very happy to see us installing the pump in the village of Chiuke Nkhoma for the first time – it was a truly wonderful day. The villagers have long relied on open wells for water, with no previous organisation showing interest in providing safe water. They are deeply grateful to Drop4Drop and Colicci for being the first non-governmental organisation to support them with clean and safe water. The community engages in both business and farming, growing and beans, but they often sell their produce to vendors at very low prices, leaving them with little benefit from their hard work.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
