Kawasenyi 2 Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

‘Globally, millions of people live without a safe water supply and women and girls are most affected by the difficulty in accessing clean water which was the same situation in Kawansenyi 2 village. Women and girls spend hours walking to carry home water which robs girls of education and moms of the chance to make a better life for their families. Another challenge is that many children die from diarrhea cuased by contaminated water, poor sanitation and unsafe hygiene practices. With this clean water ,these deaths are preventable. That is why Drop4drop came in thus transformimg these communities. This community now has clean water and this was made possible by Every well water foundation in partnership with Drop4Drop.’

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
