“The pump installation was successfully completed, and the well provides a reliable supply of water, even during the dry season. Previously, villagers collected contaminated water from nearby rivers, but they are now thankful to Colicci for providing safe and clean water. The village is located far from trading centres, making it difficult for residents to access basic necessities. The roads leading to the area are in poor condition, further limiting connectivity. Most villagers rely on farming, growing maize and potatoes for both sale and consumption. The community faces significant poverty, with many living in grass-thatched houses, and many children are unable to continue their education due to a lack of school fees.”

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
