Kibenge Village, Mpigi District, Uganda

“This community now has reliable access to clean water throughout the year. The incidences of waterborne diseases have dramatically decreased, and children are able to attend school regularly instead of spending hours each day fetching water. Women, who traditionally bore the burden of water collection, now have more time for economic activities and community engagement in Kibenge village. Narrates Josephine. We want to thank One retail for constructing for us this clean source of water in our community. We are grateful”

Namukasa Josephine, Community Member.

This project was undertaken as part of our campaign of projects that actively reduce carbon emissions. This project helped the community save their much needed wood which was previously being burnt daily to boil water. This project has also eliminated the many thousands of hours previously spent on walking to collect water.
